FAQs
for Couples Seeking Therapy After Betrayal
-
My fee is $190 per 50-minute session. I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients with financial challenges, but these are currently full. Payment is due at the time of service, and I accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and electronic payments.
-
I do not accept insurance or Medicaid. By not working with insurance, I can ensure our work together remains entirely confidential, avoids diagnostic labels that could stay on your health records, and is focused solely on your needs rather than insurance requirements.
-
Betrayal often brings complex emotions like anger, grief, guilt, and confusion. My approach focuses on helping you both process these emotions, rebuild trust, and clarify your shared goals. Therapy is not about assigning blame but creating a space where both partners feel heard and supported.
-
I use a blend of Narrative Therapy and experiential approaches influenced by Virginia Satir. This means we’ll explore the stories you each bring into the room, identify patterns that no longer serve your relationship, and create space for new ways of connecting. My goal is to help you both experience emotional and relational shifts, not just surface-level fixes.

Every couple is different, but many find significant progress within 12–24 weeks. Some choose to stay longer to work on deeper relational goals, while others prefer shorter, more focused work. I recommend weekly sessions initially to build momentum.
-
I offer sessions Monday through Friday, with appointments starting at 9:00 AM and my last session beginning at 5:30 PM. I do not currently offer weekend hours. If flexibility is a concern, I recommend booking appointments in advance.
-
I work with couples together but may suggest individual sessions for each partner if it supports the work we’re doing. These are not about taking sides but helping each of you explore your own experiences and emotions more deeply.
-
Ambivalence is common after betrayal. Therapy is a safe place to explore whether repair and reconnection are possible or whether a respectful separation is the healthiest choice. My goal is to help you clarify your path, whatever that may be.
-
You can book your initial consultation directly on my website via a HIPAA-compliant scheduling system. If you have questions before booking, feel free to email or call me, and I’ll get back to you within 1–2 business days.

Yes, I offer secure video sessions for couples who prefer the flexibility of online therapy or cannot attend in person. Many couples find virtual therapy just as effective as in-person sessions.
